INTECO BUILD The project aimed at promoting the utilization of renewable energy as well as the efficient management of energy and advanced building design concepts so that they are well integrated in intelligent ecological buildings. The projects sought to promote new designs, RES utilization and RUE integration in buildings. This involved using different approaches, active and passive heating, solar energy, electricity and water heating, so as substantially to reduce or even to avoid energy demand and to use energy in the most efficient way for the cost-effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The application of high-quality concepts of ecobuilding depends on local market conditions and regulations. Thus, there is a strong need to assess the barriers-technological, financial, and regulatory-that have to be removed and to plan actions for harmonizing regulatory frameworks and market conditions. This assessment should be accompanied by targeted analyses of the private, public and political commitments, as well as of the impacts of socio-economic conditions on buildings. |
